   EXALTATION    30x40 Acrylic on Canvas     *sold*

A praise offering and worship experience....  Painted during a church service.  the sermon was on LOVE with 1 Corinthians 13 being the theme.  When i started i didn't know what i was going to paint but as the music started i felt Gods love flowing and felt the presence of Holy Spirit, my helper.  God knew i needed that.  He is truly ever present.  His LOVE is amazing.  the scripture in Romans came to my mind about the love of God being shed abroad in our hearts and i wanted to worship and praise Him - who IS love- and somehow show how much God truly loves us all.   the painting is a celebration of LOVE, which brings LIFE because GOD is LOVE, and the presence of LOVE is the presence of GOD.  the presence of GOD is the presence of LOVE. Be EXALTED, O GOD, above the heavens!!!   Wow!

 mixed media self portrait

another self portrait... i took a photo and put it on a painted board then used pen and ink and acrylic paint to enhance it... a fun and different kind of self portrait.
the actual size of the board is 12x12 and the picture is in the right 1/4 of bottom corner. this is a close up of the bottom half of the piece... i gave myself turquoise eyes and silver hair... artistic license...    ;-)

i want to see myself like God sees me.  i probably don't quite  yet but it's a fun journey.

 I heard it was JRR Tolkien who called artists 'sub-creators'.  I love that! 

Since God is the one true Creator we can only attempt to copy His creation.  What a wonder! 

There is indeed nothing new under the sun but it's so exciting to see the many translations into art of God's amazing Creation!  I am entranced and grateful.
