About me... 

An artist at heart since my earliest memories...   

Ii have loved drawing since I can remember. Born the eldest in a family with 4 brothers and 3 sisters, in the ‘thumb’ of rural Michigan near Lake Huron, who are all creative in their own right. There are artists, woodworkers, metal sculptors, quilters, inventors among us.   

I moved to Georgia, via a short stint in the beautiful Smokey Mountains in North Carolina at 19.  My first son was about a year old.  My second son was born there in N.C.  Went to Boston, MA, where my daughter was born and then moved back to GA, where I’ve been for the most part for 45 years.  Spent a year in Pheonix, AZ, at 6 month intervals in the ‘70’s but Georgia is ‘home’. 

Now i am joyfully watching my five grandchildren become artists, linguists, journalists, business entrepreneurs, athletes and more.  My sons are honorable men and they make me proud.  Tragically my daughter passed in 1987.  But I have always had that hope that springs eternal and today I am a survivor and a grateful, blessed woman.

I am enjoying painting with acrylics. I love the multitude of colors. I have always been fascinated with faces and have a series of faces in a mixed medium of pastels, watercolor, pencil and whatever is handy.  I like to use unusual ingredients in my work mixing coffee grounds for texture into the paint or slicing up wine bottle corks and gluing them onto a piece or using other things I have at hand.  It’s fun and surprising, even to me.

Most paintings tell a story by themselves... each of them truly is a story; heartbreak,  celebration,  hope, future, a love affair, an event...  my life is reflected in my art. 

My hope is that my art touches you and gives you joy. It does that for me when I paint. My desire is to glorify God using the gifts He has given me. My goal is to become what my Creator designed me to be.
